What is the name of the discipline that studies morality and concepts of right and wrong?

Is there still a study of ethics or is it just a class that lawyers and doctors and politicians get to sleep through. I personally think that it has a robotic teacher and the loudest class on campus ( due to snoring). I have not seen proof of ethics on tv, courtroom, or hospitals or government in half a century.
