Which male creature can get pregnant and give birth?
Correct answer: Seahorses
Spacehead265
The question is a little misleading. They don't get pregnant in the normal sense, they have a pouch that the female lays her eggs into, he fertilizes them there and carries the eggs until they hatch and he releases them from his pouch.

vampgirl1185, Are you kidding, human males could not handle a period for a day, let alone a 9 month pregnancy, labor and birth.
vampgirl1185
I just wish human men could give birth!
neonangel1965
Spacehead265, exactly. This is why I enjoy this forum. The intelligent fellow players who share a deeper knowledge of the subject matter.

vampgirl1185, If men had to give birth mankind would have been extinct millions of years ago! HAHA

pregnant means "containing a developing embryo, fetus, or unborn offspring within the body". The seahorse pouch would, in this case, count as "within the body". The question is not wrong nor inacurate.

The male seahorse does not actually get pregnant like a female. She actually lays the eggs in his pouch. He intern works like an incubator till it's time to deliver

Mama Crow
A bit like Emperor Penguins. After the female lays the egg, the male incubates it while she goes off to feed.

Spacehead265, how is that not pregnancy? The unfertilized eggs get fertilized inside the male, and grow there until he gives birth to them. That is gestation/pregnancy.
Are you saying because it happens in a pouch instead of inside his body that it's not a "normal" pregnancy?
snowflake
Seahorses display a kind of reversed pregnancy – after fertilisation, eggs are transferred into the male’s brood pouch to develop. The father makes quite an investment in terms of time and energy. The eggs receive oxygen and protection, and gestation lasts from 14 to 28 days, after which the male gives birth to live young known as fry. These diminutive offspring are at the mercy of predators for the first few weeks of their lives: only a tiny fraction will survive to adulthood.

Charissa Ramcallian, being able to accept it graciously, when you are wrong, is a sign of maturity and a prerequisite for learning. Best wishes.

Poor females. Your desire shall be to your husband (man) and your pain in childbirth shall increase. The desire goes both ways. Thank God I don't have to have a baby!

I'm not a genius but I don't think they GET pregnant...I used to, but I'm pretty sure the males only carry the baby/babies. Otherwise, wouldn't that just make him the female 🤔???
