Which form of government does Norway have?
Correct answer: Constitutional monarchy

jay w, from my understanding, it's the same as the UK. The people/government elects the PM, and the Monarch officially names them PM, though they don't actually have a say in this

Zavi, "Well may we say God save the Queen...because NOTHING will save the Governor General!" was the oft-quoted phrase from the Australian PM Gough Witlam when he was sacked by the Queens representative (the Governor General) in 1975. I was 15 at the time & remember it well. It caused quite a stir at the time...

Piotr,
I was there during my second trip to Norway, which was summer of 1995. I was returning after my visit during the Winter Olympics in 1994 to meet the parents of my girlfriend. I was fascinated to learn the history of the city of Bergen. The architecture there is very cool.

jay w, As was once said about the British Monarchy, it is not the power that the Monarch has that is significant, it is the power that the Monarch denies to others that is the strength of a Constitutional Monarchy. It isn't really hiring and firing the PM, it is a constitutional function that prevents the PM from outstaying the term of office. The Monarch doesn't control the military either... Thailand, on the other hand is morphing into an Absolute Monarchy and that cannot be good for Thai democracy. 😕
