The Beatles had 17 UK No 1 hits between 1963-1970 that is just 7 years. They had there first UK hit in October 1962 " Love Me Do" which reached only 16 in UK charts.
The other great British band the Rolling Stones had there first UK hit in 1963. They had 9 No 1 UK hits between 1964 - about 1974. The Rolling Stones are still going today 58 years later and still no way near the Beatles 17 UK No 1 s.
