In which city was the first modern pizza cooked?

The pizza Margherita, which is a basic pizza, is topped with tomato, mozzarella and basil. This represents the tricolour flag of Italy and is named after Queen Margherita in honour of her visit to Naples.

I've not been to Naples

toothless beachrat, pizza dough made anywhere outside of downstate New York is disappointing. The elements in the water make the crust unbelievably delicious. Same with bagels, can't get a decent bagel anywhere else

Some folks prefer thin crust, others prefer thick crust. I first learned of a "deep dish" "Chicago style" around 1980 when the mall opened in my hometown of Manhattan Beach, CA. There was a restaurant named "Gino's East" that displayed the history of the deep dish. Of course thin crust is the style that is most prominent when "best of" lists come out.
