Why did they list penance as a wrong choice then use it to describe the Catholic ritual (which is reconciliation, by the way)?

Y'all know sometimes!! I think that I have sinned to much and that God doesn't love me and that he won't forgive me because I have sinned to much And I know that is was wrong! but I. know God will and does still love me no matter what and that he will always forgive me when I ask him to! but that's how I feel a lot of the times! but I say I will pursue what pleases Him I always wanna please Him! and I know God knows my heart He knows! and. I want God to always be smiling down on me! I want that! and God knows that I mean everything that I'm saying but uh I sin! and on purpose a lot of the time! which no I don't want to! but well I do! and I feel like I have problem stuck in a sin cycle! but I say have mercy on me! o God! I say psalm 51 everyday!! and well I'm gonna do better! definitely!

Another form of religious power play. If you took religion from the equation most people would be leading fairly blameless lives and not having to beating themselves up over just being human.

So called "sins" vary wildly from person to person depending on whichever indoctrination they have endured. Not all religions/ beliefs/ mythologies/ faiths/ teachings/ ideals etc. involve a "confession". Why would you have to "confess" if your god sees everything, knows everything & is omnipotent? Guess some could confess to santa. To each their own. Think about it.

The only way to be at peace with God is to confess your sins, whichever your religion. Eye opening.
