Sounds very much like Harold Shipman. Drugging his victims to death and benefiting from there wills. That's how the caught Shipman because of such a poorly forged will and leaving it to him instead of her family. Made them very suspicious and the rest is history. Knowbody will ever know how many people he killed but it's genraly thought to be 100s more than he was convicted of.
