What kind of horse breed is in the picture?

Very recently watched a documentary on the history of American horses. In Idaho on the Nez Perse tribal land, the natives developed the breed when they saw some very unusual wild horses grazing on a knoll they called Paloosa. They liked them for their speed and beauty.

my daughter knows horses and I have learned about them from her.
