Ambivalence is seeing good and bad in something or someone, and being conflicted about it. A personal example: I am ambivalent about AI. I can see benefits and good things that could come, but I fear it for the power I believe it has, and the possibility it could escape. I've enjoyed playing with some beta AI stuff, but I'm mostly afraid of its potential for real harm.
