Truly a sobering reminder of how the MGM dictatorship regime that has no heart or compassion for the actress Judy Garland. At the age of 17 she is given a steady diet of amphetamines by the STUDIO!! Clearly a child abuse issue at least n a criminal case at WORST
Shame some 30 years later she overdosed!!

She was so very talented: acting, dancing and a voice that could lift one out of one's seat. She was merely a cash cow for greedy studio heads; their property - just as the back lots, props and cameras - to use, abuse, discard or destroy...which they did with impunity. Shameful and criminal.

Mars V, When an entertainer was signed by a studio back in Judy Garland's day, they became studio "property." I'm not sure how much her parents were even allowed to see her. It was no place for an innocent young girl alone.

They were close confidants, and Judy was supportive when she entered show business. When she speaks of Judy Garland, Liza Minnelli still calls her "Mama."

Clidge, Her younger daughter Lorna Luft (who has an incredible voice) and son Joey Luft also suffered in childhood. Liza said she was more like the parent and her mother was either screaming, (Not necessarily at them), or smothering them with affection. The monsters at MGM should have been prosecuted for what they did to Judy while she was a child.
