Whosyermon51, Where outer space begins is not crystal clear, however Shatner & company made it there by most definitions. These guys (& gals?) made it to about 64 miles which qualifies them for Astronaut Wings (50 mi) whereas most nations have signed an agreement putting the number at 62 miles. For an object to stay in orbit without being significantly slowed by atmospheric gases is about 81 miles.

William Shatner is very silly doing this trip. The whole journey was a tiny bit over 10 mins. Shatner's trip has put out the wrong message to mega rich people who want to do this type of trip that pollutes the atmosphere. The message is saying , it is ok to do this type of trip to pleasure yourself. The price to the atmosphere is too great a price. .
