I based my guess on the East Coast being the site of many historical events and I got lucky with Vermont.

Tami, the question stated 'of these 4 states'. It didn't ask what was the first state.

According to Britannia Delaware is the first state. I lived in Delaware for a short time and the definitely bill themselves as the first state. Also, the dates listed are incorrect.
