Apocalypse Now is surely his finest moment. It may be just a myth that he actually took hallucinogenic drugs while filming.

Cookie Bean, Agreed. Another excellent story by King. Superb acting by both Walken & Sheen. Definitely worth the time. Now that I think about it, Walken & Sheen do wonderful jobs in their other King projects too.

I found it interesting back in the early 80's to learn he is the father of both Emilio Estevez and Charlie Sheen. I learned it after the release of the film "Garbage Men" which was written (and I think produced) by Emilio. Talented family

I didn't know that it was based on a Stephen King novel. See, I learned new today.

I'm not a Stephen King fan, but that book was incredible. Excellent writing, story, and very thought provoking. The movie was pretty good, too. Did a better job showing why people were scared to touch Johnny than the book did. Too bad this question gave away a plot point, though.
