Where are sunchokes (Jerusalem Artichokes) native to?
Correct answer: North America
Republic of China
Poty had poor explanation. Poty did not mention why is it called Jerusalem Artichokes so I'm explaining here :
Over time, the name girasole (pronounced closer to [dʒiraˈsuːlə] in southern Italian dialects) was corrupted to Jerusalem. An alternative explanation for the name is that the Puritans, when they came to the New World, named the plant with regard to the "New Jerusalem" they believed they were creating in the wilderness.
