Which continent is the coyote native to?

Coyotes are quite abundant in these parts, and quite beautiful as well. They come up to our homes nightly. We respect them & they us, thus far. Their vocalizations vary & depending on the call at the moment. They can be very eerie or hauntingly lovely.
