What is the medical term for a heart rate that exceeds the normal resting rate?

Bradychardia (Slow Resting Heart Rate) is the opposite of Tachycardia (Fast Heart Rate)

While some tachycardia episodes are brief and resolve on their own, others can be sustained and lead to serious complications like heart failure, stroke, or even sudden cardiac arrest. A friend's child was rushed to the hospital with a high heartbeat after over 20 minutes. When the kid arrived at the hospital his heartbeat was 125bpm
