Who had a hit international single with 'Nothing Else Matters'?

Nothing like "SANDMAN", I still liked the song because I can relate. Idk about the progression of the band thru a ballad, Metallica remains a solid fave in classical rock. Space M.

That whole album is incredible.

Metallica is great music to keep you awake when you’re working the graveyard shift. Wish they were around when I was stuck with that schedule.

Metallica did an album with the Dan Francisco Symphony Orchestra. A man named Doug Rioth was the symphony's harpest. He was from a ssmall town in Missouri, Marceline, where Walt Disney lived as a child. Doug played piano first, as a child, needing little instruction from the piano teacher we shared. His mother was the sixth grade teacher and by 8th grade, he was at the Michigan conservayory of music. He went from there, to San Francisco, where he plaued with Metallic on harp. Small towns can produce magicians. Doug and Walt were two.

My favourite albums were the earlier ones, early 1980s. Well worth looking into back catalogue of Diamond Head and Megadeth, both these groups linked with Metallica in their early days
