What is the minor-planet designation of Pluto?

Pluto will remain as a planet to me. The scientific community seem to enjoy contradicting one another. I may be wrong but I've considered Pluto's place in the cosmos as a far out planet in our solar system..

Felt bad for Pluto when it was dropped from the planets - ruined all our mnemonics to remember the order of the planets...
