Discovered in 2006, why is the name of the tallest tree in the world called by the Greek name ‘Hyperion’?

I have been to Australia's tallest tree. It is in the state of Western Australia. My boyfriend and his brother in law climbed it but I was not game. It had spikes sticking out for climbing. That was 40 years ago. No doubt there would be more safety measures in place now.

I hope that some goverments will protect these beautiful trees, and animals.There are some monster without conscience that love to destroy everything.
