nena, Have to agree with you there. A couple of morons cut down the "Sycamore Gap tree" in 2023 It was a much loved tree growing in a gap in Hadrian's Wall They are about to be sentenced for criminal damage to the tree and the wall. The tree is well known for being the tree in Robin Hood, Prince of Theives " Hadrian's Wall is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and a World Heritage Site. Happily dedicated experts have been caring for the tree's roots and several new shoots have emerged. They are being re-planted in safe places.

I have been to Australia's tallest tree. It is in the state of Western Australia. My boyfriend and his brother in law climbed it but I was not game. It had spikes sticking out for climbing. That was 40 years ago. No doubt there would be more safety measures in place now.
