What really bugs me is when hunters kill for sport not caring for the animal or if it is endangered. No one needs to have a jaguar coat.

Panthera is the family of the five large cats. Lion, tiger, leopard, jaguar and snow leopard. They all have the hyoid bone adaptation which allows them to roar. Cougars and cheetahs cannot roar. The black panther is a black leopard, a black jaguar or as in the south eastern USA a black puma (cougar/mountain lion). It has more to do with the colouring rather than a distinct species.

You sure? The spots look seriously like a leopard....

Mable, some are black but some are spotted. I thought they were black too so I checked it out 🙂
