As a student nurse ( many moons ago) I was rotated to all hospital wards and departments. In some of these, I was not in direct contact with patients, such as central sterile supply and baby milk formula department. I really enjoyed it.

When I worked in a depth store, they rotated us around so we would know how different ones worked. I worked in almost every one except car parts.

Job rotation is not necessarily the best way to make employees change positions. I belonged to a company who moved people around like a chess board. Anytime the hierarchy reorganized, employees were shifted into new positions. I was moved into jobs I never would have applied for had I had a choice. And in this type of approach the employee NEVER has a choice. Not a fan.
