dan d, More so from the separation from imperial power with little help. This gave rise to corruption. Then there were loans from first world nations that they could not afford that were squandered or stolen by these corrupt leaders in many third world nations.

DRC is extremely rich in natural resources but it's people are poor. The wealth has been accumulated by a handful of corrupt people there.

these countries have all been former colonies of western empires, it is no wonder they are all poor. they still have resources taken back to the empirical country as part of their independence settlements.
