What percent of the same DNA do a human and chimpanzee share?
Correct answer: 96%

Snance
96%,I bet there's a bunch of folks that don't like hearing that.

Lynne
We also share 40-60% with bananas too!!

I am not a number.
We are purportedly 96% similar to dogs.

tom66
I thought it was 98%

Snance, it's not 96% any more, their research is out of date. which is why I got the answer wrong 😂

DkRatz72
I am not a number., love dogs, but Chimps are cool!

Saint Wolf
Humans did not evolve from monkeys or vice versa directly, we and the monkeys evolved from the gene called "Hominidae", and then we evolved into neo/paleo-lithic hunter-gathrerers, whereas monkeys evolved into different species of monkeys, so we are not even by long shot very much same as monkeys.

Laroo
This is old information. We now know that chimps and humans share 98.5% of their DNA.

Breathe Easy, As you apparently know, ever so slowly, the “Theory of Evolution” is headed to the trash heap of history. Many, not a few, researchers & scientists have shown, with remarkable clarity, that Neo-Darwinism just doesn’t get the job done, i.e. from a mud puddle to humans via Darwinian evolution is almost laughable. For example, Darwin begins with ASSUMING that through some totally unknown process or mechanism life began, and this is where his “theory” picks up the story. Darwin knew this was a big issue with his theory; something he worried about but could not resolve. Life “just began,” lightning hitting a mud puddle? All experiments attempting to replicate this happenstance have failed, except those that “helped” facilitate the desired outcome. Darwin & Wallace were very smart dudes and keen observers of nature, but ultimately, their theory falls apart.

Why are there still monkeys? Why are there still fish? Why are there still microorganisms? I mean since everything "evolved."

Toni, well said!

Snance, I am one of them cause that’s the problem with our society. They think we evolve from monkeys and we didn’t. A human is a human. A monkey is a monkey never the twin shall meet.

Saint Wolf
Humans did not evolve from the monkey DNA directly, but rather from the "Hominidae" gene tree that monkeys used to be as well, which we evolved to Paleo/Neo-lithic to

According to Jewish tradition, when the inhabitants of the earth united to build a huge tower (higher than a skyscraper) to fight against GOD, a third of them were transformed into monkies, or primates.

joymarch016
I am evolved from ants, and one day we will take over the planet !! Oh wait !! We already have !!

Artie
tom66, that's what I learned in an Anthropology course in college.

Artie
I learned this in an Anthropology course in college.

Was about to say 93, then I took the 50/50.

DkRatz72, Monkeys are hairy

tom66, I thought we were closer to pigs since there is insulin from pigs and some other transplantable things that come from pigs
