Who was Kate Spade of 'Kate Spade New York'?

In an e-mail her older sister, Reta Saffo, said she believed Spade suffered from bipolar disorder. So sad that someone so creative could not get the help she needed.

I read that she committed suicide in 2018…. So tragic.
