Trevor
GixerRat, I wear the mask at night for sleep apnea. Trouble is, the mask keeps me awake.

I HOPE PEOPLE WITH THIS CONDITION DONT DRIVE. IT WOULD BE TRAGIC IF THEY GET INTO AN ACCIDENT, ESPECIALLY INVOLVING OTHERS.
Tom
not related to narcolepsy,
if you don't sleep well, and have a sore jaw in the morning. Ask your doctor, dentist about bruxism, teeth grinding at night.
It is my problem.

Laine, narcoleptics do not sleep with masks. people with sleep apnea do.

Even though this is a question about Narcolepsy, many are talking about sleep apnea. So I'll mention it too. I also have sleep apnea but I have the less common version of it called Central Sleep Apnea. In CSA your brain doesn't send proper signals to the muscles that control breathing. In the more common obstructive sleep apnea you can't breathe normally because of upper airway obstruction. Wearing a mask attatched to a C-PAP Machine works for only OSA. My type isn't treatable. I'm always tired.

ugh.. i kinda wish i could sleep this easily, but at the same time no..

Player #28825483, I have sleep apnea. you wake through the night because you stop breathing. Treated by wearing a pressurised mask for bed.

Player #28825483, Are you talking about "Sleep Paralysis" or "Sleep Apnea"? 😁
DawnyC
That is similar to sleep apnea, because you don’t actually go into deep sleep , and wake up a few times during the night you are still tired during the day and can fall asleep at anytime
