I’ve always thought that pets should live longer—my sweet cat lived to be 12, died much too soon. After 5 years I still shed a tear every time I see her photo.

ang, If a dog smells really bad, sniff around his ears. If the smell comes from there, if he shakes his head a lot, or if he shows any sign of pain, he needs a vet. Many owners neglect ear infections until their dogs lose hearing.

My first cat, Arlo Guthrie, lived to be 20. He was the coolest cat; he loved dogs. He thought he was a dog. He never used his claws, if the dogs upset him, he bit them. I called him my "PuppyCat."

Player #10056078, I know you probably never see this but I totally disagree with you. Potties are NOT bred to fight. They are truly living & forgiving. my dad rescued one from a fighting situation and he followed my sister around & tried to pick her up by her diapers. They used to be called "Nanny Dogs" because of how they related to children.

Bjach, They are a cute little dog, but as a kid I asked my dad why are they so nervous? My dad in a serious tone answered. You too would be nervous if you crossed the border without your “proper” papers… My dad surprised me because my mom has the sense of humor; LOL!

Player #10056078, True! Friends of mine had a Shar Pei (called Coffee) that was just the sweetest dog. Then one day, when I was walking round the neighbourhood, I got the fright of my life when I was almost attacked by 2 Shar Pei's through the fence. The owner yelled at me to "get away from the fence, they're fighting dogs you know" Owner at fault!

I rescued 2 Siamese kittens when my sons were age 2 and 5. The cats each chose a son. one of them did not like anyone except my oldest son. She used to take napkins from the napkin holder and cover his bed with them in the middle of the nite. Both cats lived to about 20. My labs lived to 17 years.

Love our Chihuahuas! We currently have two male Reindeer Chihuahuas, our first one was a three year old rescue and is now 15+ years old. He was severely abused and timid when we got him. He didn’t bark and always had his tail tucked the first three months we had him. Happy to say that he does bark, and is now a very happy and quirky dog! The other was a puppy and a gift to our son from his Aunt and is now 8+ years old. It was easy training him. He says “hello” when he wants a treat or favorite toy and says “oh no” when he is being bratty! Our adopted loyal and very intelligent Pug-Chihuahua who was two years old when we got her, only lived 10 years, It broke our hearts when she passed away two years ago. She was very well trained by her previous owner. We still miss her dearly to this day.

littlebee82659, the "pit" in pitbull refers to the fighting arena. These dogs were bred to be killers. Good owners can teach them to be good dogs. Bad owners can't teach labs to fight
