When John Glenn orbited earth in Friendship 7, he became a bona fide American hero. He received a NASA Distinguished Service Award, was inducted into the Astronaut Hall of Fame, and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He was a man of science and a man of deep faith. Glenn was definitely a man of honor. I was thrilled he was able to do a mission on the Shuttle. I remember his first trip well. His last ride was definitely more comfortable than his first. He gave us valuable data on effects of space travel on the human body and an aging body. Great man.
