What kind of disease is Parkinson's disease?

My hubby was diagnosed from this terrible disease at the age of 56. 7 years now. Still first stage , but not easy. need to encourage him everyday.

great grandma had Parkinson's, grandma didn't but had similar familial essential tremors. 3 of her 5 children had FET as well, 1 of them my mom. not looking forward at all
