Loved his works even as a child. His use of '40s current culture - music, dances, slang, wartime requirements/restrictions and life in general - were (and continue to be) eye-opening, educational entertaining, particularly for those of us who missed it. Most animation shorts in the '30s and '40s were for adult audiences, shown between adult movies.
