What did the French mathematician Abraham de Moivre calculate for himself?
Correct answer: The date of his death
Greygranite
to live to 89 especially back then is impressive!
Laurie
His death sounds like a self-fulfilled prophecy.

I can do it too! The day of my death will be the precise day my total number of heartbeats reach 0.

I love this game because it is educational. I learned so many things from just playing this game!
Linda
If you believe in your heart and mind that something will happen, your body will will it to happen.
Patsy Payne
If you except death, ok. I figure God knows when Ishould die. Dr gave me 6 months in 2001. I said , refuse it, I will come back 20 years from now and I did
JULIO
Great someone to calculate his date of death
Sophie
Amazing. Never have I heard of him, until now. Thank you Quizland.
DEBIdedoodah
Kinda feel sorry for him because he’d never have found out if his carefully worked out calculations had worked or not!
Soo
Not everyone is the same. I know and have heard that some older people sleep longer than those who are younger but not my case. I sleep more and more so may be I can calculate the date of my death too or better ask a mathematician to calculate it for me.
Cosmo
Linda, biblical truth!
Amraj
Greygranite, was he not 87?
Duchess
LMNOP, how could anyone count heartbeats they had as an infant? or before he figured out what the formula is? It would have to have been an estimate.
Duchess
The human brain is amazing. it sounds like he did his calculations, had a self fulfilling prophecy. "I am going to die on this date" mentally told his brain to shut down, time is up.

Greygranite, Completely agree but we also have to take into consideration the high rates of infant mortality bringing the average life expectancy down.
