What did the French mathematician Abraham de Moivre calculate for himself?
Correct answer: The date of his death

Greygranite
to live to 89 especially back then is impressive!

Laurie
His death sounds like a self-fulfilled prophecy.

I can do it too! The day of my death will be the precise day my total number of heartbeats reach 0.

Biffyjiffy79
I love this game because it is educational. I learned so many things from just playing this game!

Linda
If you believe in your heart and mind that something will happen, your body will will it to happen.

Patsy Payne
If you except death, ok. I figure God knows when Ishould die. Dr gave me 6 months in 2001. I said , refuse it, I will come back 20 years from now and I did

Sophie
Amazing. Never have I heard of him, until now. Thank you Quizland.

JULIO
Great someone to calculate his date of death

DEBIdedoodah
Kinda feel sorry for him because he’d never have found out if his carefully worked out calculations had worked or not!

Soo
Not everyone is the same. I know and have heard that some older people sleep longer than those who are younger but not my case. I sleep more and more so may be I can calculate the date of my death too or better ask a mathematician to calculate it for me.

LadyC313
Maths or not, you have to count the junkfood some ppl eat! You have diseases? If you smoke, drink, ect…
All factors that can shorten your life!
If I knew when I’d die, or I’d make sure to avoid that day and outdated it, or just take some poison or idk what to die that day to stay famous beyond death!
Or do anything to keep me alive!
But at the age of 87, back then, was over the expected lifespan of humans.
Maybe he calculated the day he’d die, faked his own dead and 200 years later is still alive thanks to möllers vitamines lol
Bad joke sorry!
But I can say I’d die in 3 days and make Sirenia happen 🤷🏼♀️

Giggle Pig
Player #26314849, the date of my death will be when God looks down and says, “ he’s had enough!”

Queen Esther
nice!! ( well not that he died) but I seems he was smart!!

Andi
Dorothy, Me neither. That's too creepy and morbid!

Wisenheimer, or, if u wanta Stay amongst the living, check out some melatonin. It comes in tablets and gummies! Best Wishes, dear! ;)

Wisenheimer
Hmph... I sleep less and less so I guess I'll hang on for a while.

Cosmo
Linda, biblical truth!

Amraj
Greygranite, was he not 87?

Duchess
LMNOP, how could anyone count heartbeats they had as an infant? or before he figured out what the formula is? It would have to have been an estimate.

Duchess
The human brain is amazing. it sounds like he did his calculations, had a self fulfilling prophecy. "I am going to die on this date" mentally told his brain to shut down, time is up.

Player #130998363
I will to be a trillion aire, ya think it will happen?

Cindy
Greygranite, 87

Jenn Natalia
PFFT! It's not as much maths as it is a self fulfilling prophecy

Barb@71
Laurie, Hmmm

Bigkev
Greygranite, 88.5.... lol

Dorothy
That is interesting. I really don't want to know about my death.

Tony
Any friend of Issac Newton had merit.

Tony
Laurie, That's what I was thinking.

LMNOP
Player #26314849, you mean, "the precise day my remaining number of heartbeats..."

Rayofglo
Biffyjiffy79, yes i have too and it reminds me of my great grandmother saying, always learn something new daily and game does just that...

Linda
Greygranite, That's 87.

ORA
YES A VERY IMPRESSIVE AGE FOR THAT TIME....

Andrew
I am going to check out that
book, "Doctrine Of Chances"

Bidex
Same here never heard of this

mel shane
kinda weird though,,maybe because he is super super intelligent in mathematics,,i don know..

Player #26314849, not true , unless you die at midnight precisely

Patsy Payne , Fantastic for you 👏
