Eddie Van Halen was the best guitarist ever walk this Earth I miss him so much I heard Alex Van Halen is going to go through the archives and he said there's three or four maybe more albums but he said it's going to take a while and we're going to do it right if it's not up to mine and Eddie's standards then he won't do it but hopefully he will I can't wait to hear new Van Halen

Meesh, At first I thought it might be KISS without their make up. I got it right using the 50-50 option. Actually I am a Linda Ronstadt, Eagles, Beatles, Elton John aficionado..I am open to listen to Eddie Van Halen, though. This game is great!

Van Halen had a rule that no one in the band could play on anyone else's recordings. When Quincy Jones called Eddie Van Halen to ask him to play guitar on Michael Jackson's Thriller, EVH hung up on him, not believing it was really Quincy Jones calling him. EVH thought he would just play a few licks on the kid's record, and no one would ever know. Forty years later, Thriller is STILL the number one selling album of all time. I'm not a Michael Jackson fan, but I own Thriller, on vinyl and cassette. "Beat It" and "Billie Jean" are worth the price of admission.

I never listened to Van Halen because I didn't like David Lee Roth or Sammy Hagar. However, I recently watched a video of Eddie Van Halen playing "Eruption." I was expecting a song, but instead I watched a guitar virtuoso (sorry to use your word, Meesh, but no other word applies) demonstrating his incredible skill. He plays most of it up on the neck of the guitar. I was blown away.

I was a Flight Attendant in the 1980’s and they were staying at the hotel we were at and the Manager, on the elevator with me asked if I wanted a ticket and I said, “sure but I’m with two other Flight Attendants and could I get two more tickets?” He gave me 3 and also backstage passes but we didn’t even know where the “backstage” passes were for! Anyway, we had to get up early. But that was very cool!?? I didn’t even know who Van Halen was and thought David Lee Roth was Van Halen … I learned later all the deets
