In truth, the Cheers sitcom was developed by two brothers who were attending my hometown university, the University of Redlands, in California. The bar is modeled after a favorite Pizza restaurant and Bar, called “Gay 90’s”. Their claim to fame was their “Gay’s Special” which was sausage, pepperoni and Cashew nuts. The reason everyone knew your name was because everyone in high school and at the University went there. You were bound to run into someone who you knew.

I remembered Cheers was based in Boston and guessed Sam had loyalty or roots there

as a bostonian literally nobody calls them the BoSox for short
