Elizabeth Hackett, If you can make a ball shape with your hand, I knew a 17 year old seaman in Bethesda Naval Hospital that had a thyroid goiter. Unfortunately he passed away after 2 months in the hospital. It must have been a very painful and painful experience for him. He couldn’t speak or walk. He had a ring on his finger that he would hit on the bed frame to say yes or no or if he got really upset or excited about something. I gave him a pair of Apache boots that I had made and he never took them off. His mom said he was buried with them on.

PhabPhour, it's spelled goiter in simplified English but goitre in original English.

The Thyroid is the master hormone controlling gland. Hashimoto’s affects the entire body because of this.

The picture is not always going to provide the answer to the question. The game isn't supposed to be kindergarten-simple. It's a test of your knowledge, not whether you can identify a picture. Sometimes it's a hint, sometimes it is not.

Wannabe Vulcan
Ironic that high iodine intake can make the condition worse, since goiter is normally associated with low iodine.

I haven't had a thyroid for 5 years. I take 150mg of Levothyroxine daily, which replaces the work of my thyroid.

Geez, it’s not that big a deal. I developed a goiter (by the way, writer, it’s spelled goiter) at the age of 20. I was prescribed synthroid pills. I’ve been taking one per day ever since and I’m 63 now. You just have to take the medication for your whole life

Lanzababe
I had Graves’ disease which is also caused by the thyroid. I opted for the operation and have taken levothyroxine 225mg daily for over 20 years.

It would have been more informative if you'd have furnished us with who Hashimoto was...
