Sassy, Sassy, It didn't, the UK doesn't use 911. Although they have included 112 for mobiles.
Australia uses 000.
Other countries, I know the Philippines, have adopted 911 from US.
But 911 is not an international standard emergency line. Mostly US.
If you travel it is worth checking.
