Which people built the largest cliff dwelling in North America?

If you have never visited Mesa Verde, it is incredible. I do not believe they let you go up into the cliffs anymore, but many years ago they used to.

I was very fortunate to visit the cliffs when the park system allowed tourists into the dwellings. It was arduous getting up into the dwellings, but it was well worth it. We learn so much from our native ancestors.

Janet, I too have visited a few times but it's been a long time ago. I hope they haven't stopped being able to go in, but there ARE some pretty dangerous climbs one must do.

I THINK THIS IS WHY THEY BUILD APARTMENTS ONE ON TOP OF ANOTHER HERE. I DID VISIT THIS AREA YEARS AGO, ITS REALLY SOMETHING ELSE BUT SMALL.HOPE NOBODY HAD CLAUSTROPHOBIA.

I grew up here. Awesome memories of my childhood. We used to take school field trips Mesa Verde every year.. So much to learn!
