Truman Capote said, "Holly Golightly is not a prostitute. She is an American Geisha." She spends time with wealthy men, who offer her "gifts" of money, furs, and jewelry. She's not really a golddigger because both parties know what's going on. I guess it's up to the viewer to draw their own conclusions. It's a nice movie with good music. I've loved Moon River since I was really young.
