A mouthguard is a necessary piece of equipment in which sport?

I don't understand why people think two people beat themselves up, is a fun game to watch. Would you love to see your son, brother, husband or father being boxed until his face is bloody and swollen? Would that be fun to see people enjoy your loved one being knocked out?
