My grandfather was in this battle. He was probably traumatized by the things he saw, did, and lived through. He was a gentle man. He never spoke of his time in WWII.

My mothers parents died in that battle and her sister was gravely injured.
Their home was distroyed . Leaving her and 3 siblings ( the youngest 4 years old) without parents and home.
