In World War II, what was the last major German offensive on the Western Front in the winter of 1944-1945?

I had an uncle who won a bronze star in that battle. R.IP. uncle Gene!

My grandfather was in this battle. He was probably traumatized by the things he saw, did, and lived through. He was a gentle man. He never spoke of his time in WWII.

So much input! Makes me wonder where I was during my history class! I thoroughly enjoy history now, and am saddened that the holocaust is not being taught!!!

My mothers parents died in that battle and her sister was gravely injured. Their home was distroyed . Leaving her and 3 siblings ( the youngest 4 years old) without parents and home.

I knew it by the name of battle of Ardennes.
