There are seven "Stan countries" in the world. The suffix "-istan" means "the land of," so Kazakhstan is the land of the Kazaks, and Afghanistan is the land of the Afghans. All of the Stan countries have a Muslim majority, but all of them except Pakistan also have Russian Orthodox churches, and this is tolerated.

Deedee
Lionessa, how kind of the Muslims to "tolerate" the Christians.

Asianzilla

Deedee, historically Muslims have been much more tolerant of Christians than the other way round.
in fact Christians have been spectacularly intolerant of each other throughout history.
During the first Crusade during the eleventh century the "knights of God" turned up at Constantinople (Instanbul) which was not only fully Christian but also the centre of the continuing Christian Roman Empire of the East - and decided to attack it and literally massacre it's Christian citizens.
They then went on to Jerusalem, commuting genocide on one Muslim town after another all the way there.
And that's only the beginning of Christian against Christian, Christian against Muslim, Christian against Buddhism and of course Christian against Indigenous and Pagan.
The first person to be urnt at the stake in the American colonies was a Quaker. Burnt by the Puritans.
