Marlon Brando. Ever seen The Godfather series? Classic film. Brando refused his Oscar in the 60's around the AIM protest at Wounded Knee. He was involved with the ideas of that protest. When he got the nomination, he wrote a letter to the Academy asking to be taken off the list of nominations. They refused and the Academy voted for Brando to receive the Oscar. He wrote a 16 page statement to be read by a woman dressed in Native regalia.
