Which lobe of the human brain is responsible for language?
Correct answer: Temporal lobe

J
The answer is only half correct, at most. While Wernicke's area in the temporal lobe does indeed have an extremely important role in auditory comprehension of language, Broca's area, which is in the frontal lobe (NOT the temporal lobe) is heavily involved in language production.
There are too many errors in the explanation to list. The most egregious are the location of the temporal lobe, which is above, around, and behind the ears (the area behind the temples is part of the frontal lobe), and the claims that Broca's area and the limbic lobe are part of the temporal lobe. (The limbic lobe is a deeper brain structure that spans the frontal, temporal, parietal and occipital lobes.)

I thought that the wedding ring was responsible for selective hearing!

J, thanks for the extra information.
Sometimes they have to make the question/answer oversimplified.

J, I answered frontal lobe. 🤨 Not an expert, but it sure sounded correct to me.

apparently one of my lobes isn't working today. I'm having a hard time telling one from another. I'm not a doctor so I don't know the answer.
