The battle with the giant squid 🦑 is the best part of the movie “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea”. An old time classic movie that is still great !

SysterYster
the Kraken was based off sightings of the giant squid, not octopus. But I thought it was from Greek mythology, so I learned something new today. Nice

addam, The Megalodon (Meg) was the largest shark that ever lived. It was 15-18 meters (50-60 feet) long, more than three times the largest Great White shark. Its teeth measured 18 cm (7 inches). It required more than a ton of food per day, and its teeth have been found with fossilized whale bones, indicating that they ate whales.

Tom,
Same here I was actually looking for squid as the answer
the so called giant squids that are supposed to be the kraken I do believe that they are to small to be the actual beast that brought down ships in the stories that fishermen use to speak of centuries ago I just don't believe that they're big enough to bring down a ship like the actual kraken did sorta like the Meg another mythical beast that sank ships

Fish
Based on stories of sailors seeing giant squid

Hank, yep. Seattle Kraken. They made the playoffs in just their second year. Not bad!

Tom
it might be splitting hairs with a mythical (I hope) beast but I think of it more as squid-like than octopus-like .
