Which rodent is depicted in the picture?

Alvin and the chipmunks was my first introduction to them in my childhood.

On the Needles Highway (SD Hwy 87) there are chipmunks just down from the Needles Eye which can be hand fed. They are skiddish at first, but they warm up quickly when you offer up food. We go there every year durring Sturgis Rally Week.

In Southern California, we have the golden-manteled ground squirrel. It looks a lot like the chipmunk, but its stripes do not reach its face.

Yknip 7, they live everywhere in the Mojave. In Vegas, there used to be large populations of them. I had a pet one as a child. She was injured & Mom nursed her back to health. But she couldn't be released because of her injuries.

The first album I ever owned was the red vinyl record by the Chipmunks. In later years, when we went camping up high, we saw and fed little chipmunks. They are my favorite little wild creatures.

Even in and around NYC, this little guy with the blackwhiteblack stripe along it's back and through it's eye, it's a chipmunk! But no relation To Alvin, Simon, or Theodore.

They are incredibly cute!!! I love it when they visit my feeders that are intended for birds,however, I also welcome chipmunks and squirrels. My golden retriever, loves chasing it!!!

I actually thought this was a type of squirrel! I mean a chipmunk kind of is but it’s not exactly what I thought it was in Indiana!
