However he was testing the method rather than his playing speed, so kept on 3 sweaters & took none of his legendary run-up. The speed was clocked at 89mph - but with freer arms, his long full run up & a standard weight ball one can certainly add 20 mph to this figure.

That's not fair - Thommo was never timed as the technology didn't exist, but everyone who batted against his bowling said he was the fastest ever.
