Being a good listener is a wonderful skill . Could save many marriages or any relationship . I constantly tell my husband he’s a terrible listener . That’s because he is .

You can’t listen without hearing. Listening does not mean understanding only a mental process of what is heard. If you hear a sound you can’t understand or identify you have heard and listened. To some extent there is a difference. To some extent they may be interrelated.

Funny thing. I was taught the difference in church, at an early age, where they actually broke it down & said why we must listen and pay attention in church. Why? Because Your Life Might Just Depend On It!! Pretty serious stuff.

Many men (at least married ones) seem to have selective hearing. Almost all men can hear us when we call them for dinner or to the bedroom. If it's time to mow the yard, or talk about our relationship, he becomes conveniently deaf.
