Sadmum, They can measure perfectly, but ii's no good if the makers dont create shoes that fit you. My feet are broad at the front and narrow at the heel so its almost impossible. I wear a lot of clunky adjustable sandals!

I wore a size five, C width in high school. Today it's size seven and the only width to choose from (it seems) is very narrow, or WIDE. It takes all the fine fit right out of the equation. I wore better shoes as a child than I can find today.

D O N N A, I remember my Mom was a 4 - 5 and never had trouble finding shoes in the 1940s when sample shoes were in that size. Now most women's shoes start at 7.

That device was no good for me as I have a short foot and long toes. So it said that I needed a shorter or longer shoe at the same time.
