In Ancient Egypt what did the cat owners do as a sign of mourning when their cats died?

Cats are the most loving, caring and compassionate pet in the whole world. I saw it with my own eyes with my 4 cats before.

Kiss, they are also sneaky,stubborn,demanding, and independent and I love all their quirks and I have not gone without a cat my whole life.

Atleast they didn't eat them.

Snance, I've seen this look on some kinda scary-looking Latina chicks in South Texas. They shave their brows, then either draw or tattoo new eyebrows, usually with an exaggerated arch that makes them look perpetually surprised, even while asleep. I'm not sure if it's a fashion faux pas or a gang loyalty thing, but it's not a good look.

My Bombay kitten, Ray Charles, has hit puberty, and has found his voice. He has started caterwauling, loudly, for no reason I can discern. There's nothing wrong with him, he's just full of testosterone and acting accordingly. At first I was freaked out and thought about leaving home, but I've found some tricks like talking to him very quietly to meowing at him (I'm pretty good at cat sounds). If I yell at him, he just bellows louder. It is time for Ray-Ray to get neutered, so he can calm down and stop "singing." We neuter all male animals we work with closely: horses, bulls, llamas, dogs, cats, and most farm animals. It makes them safer to work with and much, much nicer to be around.

I shave my eyebrows,nose and ears, I am becoming more like a sphinx cat every day!!!! 😂😂

I recently saw the cat mummies at The Gold of The Pharaohs exhibition at the museum. They even had coffins with headstones 🪦 🤣

Snance, mine are so blonde that I look as if I have none anyway. Would save me a fortune in eyebrow tint if the no eyebrow look did come back into style. 😂😂

No eyebrows is a good look. I hope that comes back in style again.

budgie, Believe it or not, it does happen, not very often mind you & generally not from an attack. Not only that but they too, like other animals, will feast apon humans after they are dead.

to those people who bad mouth cats remember this:when do you hear of domestic cats killing or maiming people?( unlike dogs)

I seem to remember one of my Egyptian friends telling me this. And being so unusual to me, I remembered it.

I like their personality of they just don't get intimidated by much. I had a few that showed up and took space to litters of their own...it was told to me by a nosy neighbor that the females just think about producing more bc they want to take over animal habitats. I'm totally allergic to their fur, but I absolutely love watching them. I have them to be the most mysterious of all animals.
