Crema Catalana is a Spanish dessert almost identical to which French classic?

If the Catalan dessert predates the French by 3 centuries the question should be the other way round.

Creme Brulee is exactly as same as Caramel pudding. My mother used to make it using exactly the same ingredients as cream Brulee.
