It seems to be the fashion to knock the USA. It's unfortunate. For all it's flaws, it is still a great country and millions of people want to enter it every year. What makes this country great is FREEDOM. This should be protected.

Rey, Benjamin Franklin was not an American President

MedievalStar3, Every country in the world has "stolen" land from someone else. So what do you want us to do about it? Have every country give its land back to...who?

Knodel1958, true, we are flawed. I need to present an ID to buy beer, fireworks, and even Sudafed, but people want to vote without one? That's not denying a vote, that's ensuring it's credible.

HawaiianShirtGuy, In my experience the USA gets “knocked” because they tend to be be arrogant. So much of what I see of Americans through their comments in various groups show they have no concept of the world outside the USA. There is a whole world out there but so many Americans can only imagine the USA. They show little or no knowledge of the existence of others and expect everyone to know all things American. So arrogant for example they sign off with their State initials as if the whole world knows what those letters mean. If only other Americans could educate those we see online.

Mt. Rushmore is a great place to visit.

DkRatz72, That's crazy and I can't understand how that happens. 30 years without it ever being used and sent in? Correspondence to the Secretary of State? A man in Colorado used his deceased wife's forged mail in ballot to vote, and he got caught.
DkRatz72
Player Say what!?, yes, voting in person can be very secure. However, mail in ballots are another issue. My elderly parents still get a ballot for me in my birth State. I haven't lived there in 30 years. Despite calls, letters and e-mails the ballot comes every two years....

DkRatz72, When one enters a polling station to vote, you state your name and the election worker finds your name on a large list and then marks that you voted. No one can then enter and claim to be that person and vote. The mail in ballots have to be signed and then it's electronically checked for authenticity. Lots and lots of very clever identification markers on the mail-in ballots for each county that ensure there will be no fraudulent ballots. Voting machines are not connected to the internet and therefore can't be hacked. No matter how much some try to claim, voting is extremely accurate and fair.
