Which breed of dog is informally known as a 'sausage dog'?

I am on my 3rd dachshund....the best breed... so comical, loveable, loyal, loves to be cuddled under her blanket which she covers herself so cute watching...I can go on and on how great they are!

My daughter's boyfriend has a 3/4 dachshund that looks pure bred. She is absolutely adorable and she loves me with all her stomach because I give her lots of treats.

Have had 3 Badger Hounds (Dachshunds). A Standard Red (Frannie), A Tweenie Dapple (Sammy), & a Mini Black & Tan (Ginger) Wonderful dogs & Great hunters. We miss them dearly.

I've always heard of them called Weiner dog's, not sausage so dogs, lol, just a play on word's though!
